Dark hexagonal terracotta floors, patterned tile backsplashes, and heavy wooden furniture from another decade. The apartment had character — just the wrong kind. The layout had potential, but everything from the bathroom fixtures to the kitchen cabinets needed a complete rethink.

The living and dining areas flow as one — a cream sofa anchors the left, while the dining nook is defined by a dusty mauve accent wall that gives the space warmth without weight. Green velvet chairs around a walnut table, a smoked glass pendant hanging low, and new windows that frame the Cascais rooftops. The colour palette is deliberate — soft, layered, and completely cohesive.

A quartz waterfall island commands the centre of the room — induction hob on one side, space to sit on the other. Handleless cream cabinets, built-in Bosch appliances tower, and an industrial spring faucet that adds just enough edge. The ceiling-flush extractor keeps the sightlines clean. Every surface earns its place.

A frosted glass sliding door separates the bedroom from the en-suite — open it and the bathtub becomes part of the room. Metallic feather wall art above the bed, pink velvet cushions, and mirrored wardrobes that double the sense of space. The en-suite itself features a freestanding bathtub against concrete-effect tiles, a teak vanity with a vessel sink, and Edison bulb pendants that set the mood.

Clean white walls, oak floors, and a large window that fills the room with natural light. A built-in mirrored sliding wardrobe keeps things minimal and makes the space feel open. Sometimes the best design is knowing when to leave things alone.
